Holmhead Guest House used to be a farm , but we dont farm the land anymore that is left to our neighbour who owns Thirlwall Castle Farm .He has bought all the land, but now the Northumberland National Park owns the Castle Ruin they are restoring it and it will be open to the public in 2002 (still as a ruin) the surrounding woodland and river will be made pretty with footpaths and picnic areas.Our house is just across the river and it stands on the line of HadriansWall the footpath leads to the Romsn Army Museum and the most spectacular section Pauline is a tour guide on the wall and has diploma in archaeology and local history
and can help you plan your visit the house has only 4 guest bedrooms for guests that dont smoke ,they all have a shower/toilet ensuite and all have lovley views
over the countryside and some of the ruined castle
